How Digital Marketing Helps Brand Your Business

🎵Let’s talk about brand baby, let’s talk about you and me. Let’s talk about all the good things, and the bad things about branding. 🎵

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably going to have Salt-n-Pepa stuck in your head for the rest of the day now. Sorry about that…

These catchy songs have been plaguing the minds of people for over 30 years now, and we want you to have a brand that can be just as timeless.

Branding can be a difficult thing to achieve, but we hope with our digital marketing expertise, we are able to make it a little easier for you.

Let’s talk about brand baby

Branding, what is it, exactly?

If you’re a seasoned business owner I’m sure you’re already familiar with the concept, but for those of you who aren’t, a brand is the accumulation of how your business is perceived by the public.

So, it’s kind of important to invest in building your brand.

Unlike the 90’s, 80’s, 70’s and beyond, where much of our favourite music comes from, things aren’t all about traditional marketing and print ads anymore. These are still important, we don’t doubt that, but turning your marketing efforts towards the mobile devices glued to everyone’s hands these days has become increasingly important.

Effective digital marketing can help you build a brand that suits your products or services. Whether it’s through a strong and consistent voice in your email marketing campaigns, or a style on your social media that distinguishes you from your competitors.

You need to be utilising all of your marketing channels to their fullest potential if you want to build a brand that lasts for years to come.

All the good things

Good branding has endless benefits. It increases your credibility, your customer loyalty, your word of mouth and helps attract your ideal client base.

So what makes good branding?

Being consistent with your online marketing and messaging is very important when building your brand. You need to keep your target audience in mind, what your business offers, and how you want to market yourself.

The more unique you can be to stand out from your competition, the better.

If your business benefits from a more formal and professional approach, that’s okay too! It’s all about catering your brand to your individual business needs. It doesn’t have to all be obnoxious pop songs and fast beats, sometimes it’s important to slow it down and enjoy a ballad too.

Focus on what you want your customers to get out of their experience with you. Do you want to be known for your efficiency and speed? The quality and cost effectiveness of your products and services? Maybe you want to be known for how much you care about your customers. Once you decide this, you can begin building your brand reputation.

And the bad things

As much as we love social media marketing and the great benefits it has, you need to make sure you are intentional with what you are posting online.

You can spend years building a brand reputation, but only a few minutes can make it fall apart.

So, what makes bad branding?

Bad branding can happen in a variety of ways. Whether your brand is just non-existent, or the brand you have built doesn’t resonate with your target audience.

If you have inconsistent and confusing messaging, people will be put off by your business. If a hip hop singer came out with an opera album, people would be confused and their audience would be lost. So as always, consistency is key.

Bad design is a huge one. If you have a dull logo, or poorly made website design, it can serve as a reflection of your business, products and services. You want to make sure your name and logo make sense for your business, and help draw the right customers.

Similarly, if you have weak values, bad products and services, your brand reputation will be low.

You want your brand to be a bop, not a flop, so avoid these things and you’ll be on the right track.

If you want your business to have a competitive edge, and send your sales to the Top 100’s chart, you need to get serious about your brand and invest some of that marketing budget into a digital marketing agency.
