Challenges For Women In Business
Although the amount of women in business is growing every year only twenty-seven percent of small business owners are women. With this comes hurdles faced by the women that have chosen entrepreneurship, especially in male-dominated fields.
I want to talk about three B’s for women in business. Being, building and balancing are all challenges that women face when entering the world of business.
Being Taken Seriously
One of the largest challenges women will initially face when starting a business is being taken seriously. Especially in male-dominated industries it can be difficult for women to earn respect.
People love to presume and jump to the conclusion that women are living under their father’s and grandfather’s reputations.
To overcome this it is important to build your confidence and any negative self-talk.
There are also plenty of women entrepreneur groups that you can join. With the help of mentors and peers, these groups have the potential to inspire your success.
Building A Support Network
Almost 50% of female business owners report that lack of support limits their ability to grow their business.
Finding the support network that suits you isn’t always as easy as it sounds though. In a business world still dominated by men, it can be hard to create your own path.
Not everyone has support in their local community. A great place to start are online forums, groups and networking events specifically designed to support women in business.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions once you find a support network that suits your business model. You never know who can help out. If you don’t ask you won’t receive.
For example, if you aren’t tech-savvy and have a more hands-on approach in your business, it may be time to take a backseat for this one and recruit the experts for this.
As a fellow female-owned business we understand the importance of building your business.

Balancing Business And Family Life
Many female business owners have not only the responsibility of running a business but also a household.
Finding time for both is the key to success when it comes to the commonly sought after work-life balance. Working for yourself will give you more freedom and flexibility than working for someone else if done well.
With such a small amount of women in business compared to men, there are bound to be plenty of challenges to face.
Having a solid business plan will help female entrepreneurs take on their biggest challenges when it comes to their business.
